Trailer for A.C.O.D. Arrives

The first trailer for director Stuart Zicherman’s comedy ACOD (Adult Children of Divorce) has come online via Yahoo! Movies. Mary has a brief scene in the trailer so keep an eye out for her! The film will be out October 4.

Carter (Adam Scott) is a seemingly well-adjusted Adult Child of Divorce. Having survived the madness of his parents’ divorce, Carter now has a successful career and supportive girlfriend(Mary Elizabeth Winstead). But when his younger brother (Clark Duke) gets engaged, Carter is forced to reunite his bitterly divorced parents (Catherine O’Hara, Richard Jenkins) and their new spouses for the wedding, causing the chaos of his childhood to return including his wacky therapist (Jane Lynch)…

I’ve also added screen-caps of Mary in the film. You can see the rest in the gallery.

Director James Ponsoldt on why Mary is his Muse

Vanity Fair caught up with The Spectacular Now director James Ponsoldt after the film’s premiere in Los Angeles, and spoke with the magazine about casting for his new film and why Mary was his muse in Smashed:

VF Daily: How much of a say did you have in casting the film?

James Ponsoldt: Huge say. All the people were the people that I wanted. I wouldn’t make a movie with actors I didn’t love. It was collaboration—we work with casting directors, we work with the producers. But no, these were all people that I adore and have wanted to work with. Shailene since The Descendants, Miles I had seen in Rabbit Hole and Footloose. Brie [Larson] since Rampart and 21 Jump Street. Dayo [Okeniyi] was a discovery. He’s amazing.

And Mary Elizabeth Winstead?

Yes! The star of my last movie.

Is she your muse?

[Laughs] She certainly was for Smashed. She and her husband are an aesthetic ideal of romance personified, and in that regard romance is alive. They’re a muse to my antiquated notions of romance.

Click HERE to find out if Spectacular Now will be playing in a theater near you and be sure to check back often as more release dates will be announced within weeks.

And in other Mary related news, CBS is putting all of the episodes for “Jericho,” “Swingtown” and “Wolf Lake” up on CBS.com for the summer, allowing viewers to experience a trio of dramas they didn’t necessarily flock to when they were actually airing.

“Wolf Lake,” focusing on the lycanthropic happenings in a Seattle suburb, aired on five episodes on CBS and then jumped to UPN for four additional low-rated airings. In addition to Winstead and Wesley (still named “Paul Wasilewski” at the time), the series featured Lou Diamond Phillips, Tim Matheson, Graham Greene and Sharon Lawrence.
