In a brand new interview with The Wrap, Mary talked about playing the ‘badass’ character of Huntress in the upcoming film Birds of Prey (and the Fantabulous Emancipation of the One Harley Quinn). You can watch the clip below and stay tuned as more information will be released as Gemini Man get closer to its October 11 arrival.
Total Film magazine was on the set of Gemini Man last year and during their visit, they managed to snag Mary for a quick Q&A. In the interview, Mary describes her character and how she meets Will’s character Henry, how much she enjoyed playing the role of DIA agent Danny and how Ang Lee described his vision of the film to her. You can read all about it as I’ve uploaded all the scans into the gallery!
“You can expect something really fun and a bit wild and totally unique. Everyday we were there, we were doing something that just felt really weird and funny and unlike anything else I’ve ever seen before in this genre. It was incredibly exciting to get to do that. We really got to work. We just played, and we had fun.”
Warner Bros. has released the first official poster for their upcoming film Birds of Prey (And the Fantabulous Emancipation of One Harley Quinn and you can view the HQ poster in the gallery!
Four years after the events of Suicide Squad, Batman has disappeared, leaving Gotham City unprotected from crime, and Harley Quinn has left the Joker. When Cassandra Cain, a young girl, comes across a diamond belonging to crime lord Black Mask, Harley joins forces with Black Canary, Huntress and Renee Montoya to help protect her.
Birds of Prey will star Margot Robbie, Mary Elizabeth Winstead, Jurnee Smollett-Bell, Rosie Perez, Chris Messina, Ella Jay Basco, and Ewan McGregor and hit theaters February 7, 2020.
I am LOVING this poster. It’s so colorful and gives us a small glimpse of the craziness that’ll happen throughout the film and Mary of course looks amazing as Huntress! Expect a full-length trailer to drop very soon!
With the release of Birds of Prey (And The Fantabulous Emancipation of One Harley Quinn) set to hit theaters on February 7, 2020, DC Comics will be releasing three Birds of Prey trade paperbacks highlighting the main characters in January: one each for Harley Quinn (Margot Robbie), Huntress (Mary Elizabeth Winstead) and Black Canary (Jurnee Smollett-Bell). The covers were done by artist Tula Lotay.
Kicking things off on January 1st, 2020 is Birds of Prey: The Huntress. The solicitation for that one is as follows:
In these stories from Batman/Huntress: Cry for Blood #1-6, the Huntress is framed for murder, and while avoiding the G.C.P.D. and the Bat-Family, she revisits her childhood in hope of discovering the true culprit. But as she and the Question seek clues to prove her innocence, more murders implicating her are committed, forcing Batman and Nightwing to confront her in a showdown with unexpected results!
You can head to the gallery to see the stunning artwork! Can’t wait for Birds of Prey to hit theaters. I’m really excited for this one! 🙂
This is all around very exciting news, and I for one, am suuuuuuuper excited about this! It was just announced via THR that the director of the John Wick films Chad Stahelski, has been brought on board by Warner Bros. to oversee second unit photography for Birds of Prey (And the Fantabulous Emancipation of One Harley Quinn).
Though Cathy Yan is directing the film, reshoots are rumored to begin next month, and Stahelski will then be brought in, taking an uncredited role and tackling and designing new action scenes for the movie.
Hitting theaters on February 7, 2020, Birds of Prey follows the story of Margot Robbie’s character Harley Quinn from the Suicide Squad films gathering up other female heroes such as Black Canary (Jurnee Bell) and the Huntress (Mary Elizabeth Winstead) to take on a crime lord by the name of Black Mask (Ewan McGregor).
