After just completing her work in Birds of Prey as Huntress, landing the female lead in the off Broadway play Dying City and with Gemini Man coming into theaters later this year in October, Mary is on a roll lately and on fire! Clearly she’s focusing on her work and it’s just been announced by Variety that she will star in the Netflix film Kate.
The film follows a female assassin (Winstead), who, after being poisoned and given less than 24 hours to live, must go on a manhunt through the streets of Tokyo to take vengeance on her murderer before she dies. Filming is expected to begin later this year.
Cedric Nicolas-Troyan will direct the film and it will produced by Bryan Unkeless — who most recently worked with Winstead on the Harley Quinn spinoff, “Birds of Prey” — “Hobbs & Shaw” and “Deadpool 2” producer Kelly McCormick, and Patrick Newall. “Hobbs & Shaw” director David Leitch is exec producing with Scott Morgan.
CONGRATS, MARY!! Can’t wait to see you kick ass once again!
