Mary Elizabeth Winstead to Have More Action Scenes in Ahsoka Season 2

With Mary currently doing press for The Hand That Rocks the Cradle, Collider caught up with Mary at the red carpet premiere that took place last week and teased the upcoming season of Ahsoka and how her character will have more action sequences this time around:

“You know, I’m not sure what I can say, other than I’m in this season a bit more, which is fun. I’m definitely in on the action, as you say, quite a bit more, which was great to have a Hera really, kind of like, you know, getting some stuff done. So yeah, I honestly, I’m not gonna say much more than that, just because I’ve not [been] given my guidelines yet. So I’m gonna leave it at that. But it was so much fun. I just finished it, and it was an absolute blast. I loved every minute of it. So I can’t wait for people to see it.”

Season 2 began filming in the U.K. April of this year and recently wrapped production. A release date for season 2 has not yet been announced, but will release some time in 2026 on Disney+.

New/Old ‘Wolf Lake’ Photo

Actor Graham Greene, a Canadian First Nations actor who opened doors for Indigenous actors in Hollywood and best known for his role as Kicking Bird in Kevin Costner’s 1990 film Dances with Wolves, died September 1 at a Toronto hospital after a long illness. Greene also worked with Mary in the 2001-2002 series Wolf Lake.

Deadline published photos as a lookback into his career and posted an unreleased promo photo of Mary, Greene & the rest of the Wolf Lake cast and I have uploaded it into the gallery. I have also uploaded 2 other stills in higher quality.

He is survived by his wife, Hilary Blackmore, his daughter Lilly Lazare-Greene, and his grandson Tarlo. Rest in peace, Graham!

First Photos of Mary in ‘The Hand That Rocks the Cradle’ Remake

After muuuuch anticipation, People has finally released the first photos of Mary in director Michelle Garza Cervera’s The Hand That Rocks the Cradle. Though the movie is a remake of the 1992 film, which starred Annabella Sciorra and Matt McCoy as the couple and Rebecca De Mornay as the nanny, this update is no carbon copy, promises director Michelle Garza Cervera, who teases plenty of “shocking moments.”

The film will release on Hulu October 22nd & you can view all the photos of Mary Elizabeth as her character Caitlin in the gallery.

“The studio gave me all the chances to recreate the whole thing and build a new story, new characters, with its own heart. I think that was the best way to honor the original, not try to redo it,” she says. “We build a whole different kind of thriller. It’s actually more of a slow burn.”

Garza Cervera also says the film will take place in Los Angeles instead of Seattle like the original film did and give the characters “more complex backstories”. “Instead of having just a victim and a perpetrator, they’re both in gray areas,” she says of Polly and Caitlin. “I love the kind of antagonists that you can, on a point, empathize with. So there’s a very interesting game, like yin and yang that happens between them.”

Garza Cervera says Monroe, a scream queen known for horror films like It Follows and Longlegs, was the perfect person to play Polly: “She brings a very evil, contained tone to the film that I’m super proud of.” Winstead, also no stranger to thrillers thanks to her turns in Final Destination 3 and 10 Cloverfield Lane, “is the kind of actress that can completely transform for a role,” adds Garza Cervera.

The filmmaker says the two leads share a chemistry that gives their characters a multilayered dynamic: “It’s very interesting to see, because in a moment you even feel like they could be attracted to each other.”
