First Look at Mercy Street and Teaser!
The Washington Post has posted a great behind the scenes video giving us a first look at PBS’ new Civil War medical drama, Mercy Street.
Programming executive Beth Hoppe says the cast of “Mercy Street,” including “How I Met Your Mother” star Josh Radnor, who plays pioneering surgeon Jedediah Foster, “The Wire” veteran Peter Gerety as a fellow doctor, and “Scott Pilgrim Versus The World” star Mary Elizabeth Winstead as nurse Mary Phinney, embraced research for their parts, including watching their way through Ken Burns’ nine-part documentary “The Civil War.”
Check out the behind the scenes footage and interview below:
ALSO, be sure to check out the first teaser for the series which will be debuting in January 2016!

“It started out as just an interesting experiment,” says Winstead. And then we realized, ‘Hey, what we’re doing is really good.’ We’d recorded a dozen songs, each one coming from a different place, but there was a unifying vibe to all of them…. All of a sudden, it felt like we were doing an album.”

Mary Stuns in the Latest Issue of Elle Magazine
Elle Magazine rounded up 35 of the world’s most accomplished 30-year-old women to mark ELLE’s 30th anniversary. According to Elle, each woman was asked what does she want in their 30s: their hopes, aspirations, etc. Among them was Mary. Here is what she said:
“I just want to surround myself with people who make me happy and jobs that make me happy. You just don’t know what life is going to throw at you.”
You can head to the gallery to check out the HQ scan and outtake. Also, be sure to check out a great new (but old) shoot Mary did for Clam Magazine back in 2008.
