First Posters for Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter!

This is pretty cool! The first teaser posters for Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter have come online via IGN.

The official plot for the film has also been released:

“Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter explores the secret life of our greatest President, and the untold story that shaped our nation. Visionary filmmakers Tim Burton and Timur Bekmambetov (director of “Wanted”) bring a fresh and visceral voice to the blood-thirsty lore of the vampire, imagining Lincoln as history’s greatest hunter of the undead.”

The screenplay is by Seth Grahame-Smith, based on his novel of the same name. Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter opens June 22, 2012.

The Fox film stars Benjamin Walker as an Honest Abe opposite Mary Elizabeth Winstead (as Mary Todd Lincoln), Alan Tudyk, Anthony Mackie and Dominic Cooper.

Smashed Synopsis, Sundance Screening Schedule and New Beverly Theater

Sundance has released the synopsis for Smashed which is as follows:

Kate and Charlie like to have a good time. Their marriage thrives on a shared fondness for music, laughter. . .and getting smashed. When Kate’s partying spirals into hard-core asocial behavior, compromising her job as an elementary schoolteacher, something’s got to give. But change isn’t exactly a cakewalk. Sobriety means she will have to confront the lies she’s been spinning at work, her troubling relationship with her mother, and the nature of her bond with Charlie.

Many films indulge the dramatic highs and lows of addiction. Refreshingly, Smashed is interested in the unglamorous middle path—what stumbling through recovery looks like. As Kate tests new boundaries and shoulders the consequences of her choices, this subtle story of imperfect transformation taps into truths about the challenges and losses intrinsic to living life honestly. Genuine performances and a grounded sense of place create an authentic, textured world where three-dimensional characters—neither all bad nor all good—occupy the uncomfortable grey zone of being human.

The screening schedule for the film during the Sundance Film Festival has also been posted:

Henry Jackman to Score Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter

It’s been a long time since we heard anything about Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter, but some news has finally come forward. Film Music Reporter says that Henry Jackman has signed on to score next summer’s movie adaptation of Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter.

Jackman is coming off a busy year with three scores being released in 2011, including X-Men: First Class, Winnie the Pooh and Dreamworks Animation’s Puss in Boots, which is currently playing in theaters. Coming up next month for the composer is the thriller Man on a Ledge.

Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter
is set for a release in 2D and 3D on June 22, 2012 by 20th Century Fox.

Now that the film has a composer, hopefully the teaser trailer isn’t too far off! 😀

Magnificat Update

Riley took to his Magnificat site and updated us about the film.

I’ll admit it, I’m bummed Magnificat wasn’t chosen to be part of the 2012 Sundance Film Festival. I was really hoping we had a shot at Park City at Midnight (the genre portion of the festival) but I knew the chances were very slim considering the number of films submitted. I did hear that they liked the short though so that’s at least a bit of a consolation.

So what’s next? Mary’s film “Smashed” is in competition at Sundance this year so I’ll be tagging along with her and hopefully seeing a bunch of great movies. As far as the short goes, we’ve submitted the film to 15 other fests so far and we’ll slowly begin to hear from them after the new year. I’m so proud of the film and excited for people to see it. Fingers crossed.

Thanks,

Riley

Best of luck to Riley and Mary on their short!

First Look at Mary in SMASHED

Oh, my goodness. This is awesome! Check out the first official still of Mary and her co-star, Breaking Bad‘s Aaron Paul, in SMASHED. In the film, Mary and Aaron play a married couple whose bond is built on a mutual love of alcohol and gets their relationship put to the test when the wife decides to get sober.

Looks like they’re all lovey dovey before Mary decides to stop drinking. Seriously cannot wait for this film.
