New Video Interview with Mary on the Audition Process and More

Last night, Mary along with Showing Up director James Morrison and from 2006’s Black Christmas (who also co-starred with Mary in that film and played her mother in Magnificat) were at the SAG Foundation to do a Q&A about the film and talk about the audition process. During the Q&A, Mary said that she still gets nervous to do auditions and how her views on the audition process changed from when she filmed her segment in Showing Up to how she feels about them today. Check out the full interview below:

Loved Mary’s responses! 🙂

The Spectacular Now to Close the Atlanta Film Festival

It’s been announced by the Atlanta Film Festival that James Ponsoldt’s The Spectacular Now will close out the festival in March.

This week, the Atlanta Film Festival made opening and closing film announcements for the March 15-24 fest, with tickets expected to go on sale soon. Four other fest bookings already are on sale.

“The Spectacular Now,” directed by Athens native James Ponsoldt (”Smashed”), will close the fest on March 23, also at the Plaza. (March 24 is dedicated to encore showings.) It stars Miles Teller (”Rabbit Hole”) as a charmer with a drinking issue who catches bookish Shailene Woodley (”The Decesendants”) on the rebound. After a Sundance showing, Entertainment Weekly called it a “soulful and authentic” teen movie “about the experience of being caught on the cusp and truly not knowing which way you’ll land.”

Tickets aren’t on sale yet, but you could always check back on the official site.

Mary to Test for New Jason Bateman Comedy, This Is Where I Leave You

Ah! Would love to see Mary starring in a Jason Bateman film! According to THR, Mary is on a short-list with other actresses to test this upcoming Monday on a new WB film called This Is Where I Leave You.

Based on the book by Jonathan Tropper, the film centers on a man (Bateman) whose father dies and tasks his dysfunctional family with one last request: to spend seven days following the funeral together under the same roof.

Most of the actresses (which include Ari Graynor, Isla Fisher, Zoe Saldana, Mary Elizabeth Winstead, Kathryn Hahn and Amy Adams), are reading for the part of Penny, the love that got away who works at her father’s company.

Hahn is reading for the part of Bateman’s wife, a woman who is having an affair with his boss.

Best of luck to Mary on Monday!! 🙂

Bruce Willis Says a Die Hard 6 is Happening

While making an appearance on BBC’s One Show, Bruce Willis was asked if fans could expect a sixth film in the Die Hard franchise to which he simply responded, “yes”.

A Good Day to Die Hard meanwhile will hit theaters on Valentine’s Day. In the film, John McClane (Willis) travels to Russia to help out his seemingly wayward son, Jack, only to discover that Jack is a CIA operative working to prevent a nuclear-weapons heist, causing the father and son to team up against underworld forces.

If it ever happens, hopefully Willis will re-team with Mary’s character Lucy in some way.

Also, a couple of days ago, it was announced that Mary will NOT be starring in Captain America: The winter Soldier as Sharon Carter. The lead role instead went to Emily VanCamp of TV’s “Revenge”.

Such a bummer. Would’ve absolutely loved to have seen Mary in that role.
