Mary Talks ‘BrainDead’ Cancellation and ’10 Cloverfield Lane’ Sequel

Speaking at the Television Critics Association day for the third season of Fargo yesterday, Mary spoke with Syfy Wire where she said she’d love to step into her character’s shoes Michelle from 10 Cloverfield Lane:

“I know that Dan and I would love to continue that story,” she said with enthusiasm. “The anthology series is where they are going with it, so whether or not that ever comes back to Michelle’s story, I’m not sure. But I know Dan always had more in mind, so I would love the opportunity to explore that. If anybody would every let us do that, we would jump on it.”

In the same interview, she revealed that what draws her to projects lately are the story and character and the creative minds behind project. Right now is such an exciting time because there is so much incredible material in TV, and so many visionaries in TV like Noah (Hawley). I feel like I have been incredibly lucky the last few years to work with some of those people. Sometimes, you want to go off and experiment and do weird things but for the most part I want to stick with people who are really talented.”

Also during the TCA panel, Mary shared her thoughts on why BrainDead was cancelled, saying it was because the show didn’t quite fit into the audience with CBS but applauded the network for giving them a chance.

Mary Being Considered for Deadpool 2!

Here we go with the comic book casting rumor mill once again! Collider is reporting that Mary is on a list of actresses being considered to play the part of Domino in Deadpool 2.

Sources close to the production exclusively tell Collider that testing has begun for the character of Domino, and the actresses under consideration include Lizzy Caplan (Masters of Sex), Mary Elizabeth Winstead (10 Cloverfield Lane), Sienna Miller (American Sniper), Sofia Boutella (Star Trek Beyond), Stephanie Sigman (Spectre), and Sylvia Hoeks (Overspel). There could be other actresses included in the mix, but sources tell the site that at least these six performers have tested or are going to test for the role.

For those that don’t know, Domino is a mercenary and a mutant, and her powers include the ability to initiate random telekinetic acts that turn probability in her favor. Additionally, she has a close connection to the mutant Cable, as her comics history found her becoming a partner, confidante, and lover of the mutant and frequent frenemy of Deadpool.

Filming for Deadpool 2 will begin early next year. If anything changes, I’ll definitely post the news!

Sky High Sequel Rumored

A sequel to the 2005 film Sky High is reportedly in the works. According to The Hollywood News, the reporter spoke to “Trolls” directors Walt Dohrn and Mike Mitchell and discussed future projects, bringing up the possibility of a second “Sky High” film.

While the two are working on a “Shrek 5”, they had this to say about Sky High 2:

“We’re working on a sequel to Sky High. We’ll see how that goes.”

If you haven’t seen the film, it follows the story of Will Stronghold (Michael Angarano). A freshmen student at Sky High, a school that teaches teens who have superpowers. Will has yet to develop any powers despite being the son of two very famous superheroes, The Commander and Jetstream. So, when he enters Sky High, Will is designated as a ‘Hero Support’ sidekick and uncovers a villainous conspiracy at the school.

Mary, of course, played the villain of Gwen Grayson/Royal Pain and starred alongside Kelly Preston, Danielle Panabaker, Kurt Russell, Lynda Carter and Bruce Campbell.
