Last night in California, Mary, along with actresses Emayatzy Corinealdi, Elle Fanning, Quvenzhane Wallis, Rashida Jones and Leslie Mann attended The Variety Studio: Awards Edition event. Some new Mary updates are now available and it’s all pretty fantastic. First, Mary will be heading back to Sundance in January with her Smashed director James Ponsoldt as their new film The Spectacular Now has been selected to premiere under the festival’s dramatic competition. The film will also star Shailene Woodley and Miles Teller. Here’s the info via Sundance:
Sundance Institute announced today the films selected for the U.S. and World Cinema Dramatic and Documentary Competitions and the out-of-competition section of the 2013 Sundance Film Festival, January 17-27 in Park City, Salt Lake City, Ogden and Sundance, Utah.
The Spectacular Now / U.S.A. (Director: James Ponsoldt, Screenwriters: Scott Neustadter, Michael H. Weber) — Sutter is a high school senior who lives for the moment; Aimee is the introvert he attempts to “save.” As their relationship deepens, the lines between right and wrong, friendship and love, and “saving” and corrupting become inextricably blurred. Cast: Miles Teller, Shailene Woodley, Brie Larson, Jennifer Jason Leigh, Mary Elizabeth Winstead, Kyle Chandler.

Proposition 37 is a ballot measure that requires simple, clear labels letting consumers know if foods are genetically engineered. It was written with broad input from food groups, industry, science, legal and health experts and qualified for the November ballot with more than 1 million signatures from California citizens.
